Theme: Lament

Lament is one of the most honest and overlooked forms of worship. Drawn from the ancient Psalms, lament songs give the congregation permission to bring grief, confusion, and unanswered questions before God — not in unbelief, but in faith that God is present even in the darkest valleys. These songs hold tension without resolving it too quickly, sitting with sorrow while clinging to hope. Lament is an act of trust: only someone who believes God is listening would bother crying out.
