Theme: Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not a theological abstraction or an emotional atmosphere — He is the third person of the Trinity, the presence of God among and within His people, the One Jesus said was so important that it was actually better for the disciples that He go away so the Spirit could come. Songs about the Holy Spirit invite His active, present work into the worship gathering: His comfort, His conviction, His gifts, His empowering for witness. I've found that healthy worship communities develop a practical relationship with the Holy Spirit through their regular singing vocabulary — they learn to respond to His presence, yield to His leading, and create space for what only He can do. These songs are invitations, not performances.
