Presence and Prayer

Wait on Yah

Isaiah 40:31

Waiting feels unproductive.

That is why it forms you.

“They who wait for Yah will renew their strength.”

Waiting is not passive. Waiting is trust. It is the decision to stop forcing outcomes and to let God lead at His pace.

Worship leaders often rush because they are carrying the weight of the moment. We feel responsible for the room. We feel responsible for the energy. We feel responsible for the response.

But that is not your burden.

Waiting is how you return the weight to God.

This week, practice a simple kind of waiting.

Before rehearsal, take sixty seconds of silence. Before the first song, pray without filling the space. Before the service starts, let your heart settle.

Waiting is not wasted time.

It is worship that says, God, we trust You to meet us.

Discussion Questions

  1. Where do you feel like you are always rushing in ministry right now.
  2. What do you think you might hear from God if you slowed down and waited.
  3. What is one practical way our team could practice waiting together this week.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, teach us to wait. Strengthen us as we slow down and listen. Renew our hearts and give us patience to follow Your lead, not our urgency.
