Presence and Prayer

One Thing

Psalm 27:4

“One thing have I asked of Yah.”

Not ten things. Not everything at once. One thing.

There is a kind of clarity that comes when you stop trying to carry the whole world and you simply seek God.

Presence and prayer are not add ons. They are the foundation. If you lead worship without presence, you will eventually start leading from mechanics. It might sound good, but it will feel thin.

This verse is not about wanting a moment. It is about wanting God.

To behold His beauty. To inquire in His temple. To stay near.

Before you lead anyone else, choose the one thing.

Sit with God. Breathe. Let your soul quiet. Then step into rehearsal with a heart that is already turned toward Him.

Discussion Questions

  1. What has been competing for your attention and affection lately.
  2. What would it look like for our team to seek one thing together before we rehearse.
  3. Where do you feel rushed most often, and what would slow down look like.

Prayer

God, make our hearts single. Pull our attention back to You. Let our worship flow from Your presence, not from pressure or distraction. Teach us to desire You first.
