Presence and Prayer

Ask, Seek, Knock

Matthew 7:7

Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.”

Prayer is not a performance. Prayer is dependence.

Worship teams can fall into a pattern where prayer is a transition. A quick moment to check a box before rehearsal. A closing line before soundcheck. A spiritual bow on top of a technical process.

But Jesus is inviting something deeper.

Ask. Seek. Knock.

That is active language.

It means you bring real needs to God. It means you do not stop at surface level. It means you keep coming, not because you are desperate, but because you trust the Father.

This week, pray like you mean it.

Ask for unity. Ask for healing in your church. Ask for courage. Ask for a new tenderness toward God.

Then keep seeking.

Prayer is not what you do before the work.

Prayer is the work.

Discussion Questions

  1. What is one thing you need to ask God for with fresh honesty right now.
  2. Where have you stopped seeking because you got tired or disappointed.
  3. What would persistent prayer look like for our team this month.

Prayer

Father, teach us to ask with faith. Teach us to seek with hunger. Teach us to knock with perseverance. Make our team a praying team, not just a talented one.
