Heart and Motives
Create In Me
Psalm 51:10
David does not ask for better habits first.
He asks for a new heart.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
That word create matters. David is not asking for a tune up. He is asking for a miracle. A heart is not something you polish into holiness. A heart is something God renews.
Worship leaders can drift into coping mechanisms that look spiritual from the outside. We compensate with excellence. We hide behind preparation. We over function to avoid feeling what is really going on inside.
But Psalm 51 does not let us stay there.
A clean heart is not the same as a flawless week. It is a surrendered one.
This verse is an invitation to stop pretending that your role can carry your soul. It cannot. Your gifting is real, but it is not your foundation. Your platform is visible, but it is not your covering.
Let God touch the heart beneath the ministry.
Then lead from that place.

Prayer
God, create in us clean hearts. Remove what is mixed, and renew what is weary. Give us worship that is honest, soft, and free from performance.
