Theme: Ransom

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. Songs in this theme celebrate the substitutionary power of the cross — Jesus standing in the place of those who deserved judgment and bearing in Himself the full weight of what they owed. They draw on the imagery of the slave market and the prisoner's cell, celebrating the one who paid the price that could not be paid and set free those who had no hope of freedom through any other means. These songs make the cross personal and concrete.
