Theme: Integrity

There is a gap in many believers' lives between the person they are in the worship gathering and the person they are at work, at home, in private. Songs about integrity speak to the closing of that gap — to the integration of inner and outer life, the private and public self, the Sunday person and the Monday person. They're not comfortable songs, but they're essential ones. I've learned that congregations are more aware of this gap than they let on, and that singing about integrity together creates a kind of communal accountability and aspiration that sermons alone can't produce. These songs belong in any worship culture that takes seriously the formation of genuine, whole-life disciples rather than just Sunday morning worshipers.
