Theme: Humility

Humility is not self-deprecation — it is an accurate assessment of who we are before God and a willingness to occupy that position with joy rather than shame. Jesus modeled it in the washing of feet and the cross itself. These songs invite congregations to lay down striving and pride, finding in that posture of lowliness the same exaltation that Christ received from the Father who raises the humble.
