Theme: Fear
Showing 14 songs
The psalms don't pretend that fear isn't real — they acknowledge it fully, bring it to God, and then deliberately choose trust over anxiety. Songs about fear in worship serve two complementary functions: they make space for the honest experience of anxiety and worry, and they provide the theological counterweight. 'When I am afraid, I put my trust in you' is not denial of the fear — it's a choice made in the middle of it. These songs are particularly important in seasons of community anxiety, uncertainty, or transition, when the congregation needs permission to be honest about what they're carrying and then real help in bringing it to the God who is sovereign over everything they're afraid of.
