Theme: Expectation

Expectation is a form of faith — it's believing before you see, declaring before it's delivered. Songs about expectation are prophetically important for any community in a season of waiting, because they refuse to let the waiting become despair. They hold open the possibility that God is about to move, that the answer is closer than it appears, that the breakthrough is at the door. I've led these songs in seasons of extended congregational prayer, before significant decisions, and in times when the community needed to remember that the same God who has shown up throughout history has not stopped showing up. Expectation, cultivated through worship, creates the spiritual posture that receives what God is giving.
