Theme: Evangelism

Worship and witness are more connected than we often realize — genuine encounter with God inevitably creates a compulsion to share. Songs about evangelism and mission set that outward impulse to music, calling the congregation beyond its walls into the neighborhoods, cities, and nations where God is at work. I've found these songs most effective at the sending point of a worship set — after the congregation has been built up and filled, these songs name the purpose of the filling. They also counteract the consumerism that can calcify a congregation over time, reminding everyone that the church exists not primarily for those already in it, but for those who haven't yet heard the best news in the world.
