Theme: Character Of God

The longer I've led worship, the more convinced I am that the single most important thing we can do for a congregation is give them an accurate, spacious picture of who God actually is. Songs about the character of God — His holiness and mercy, His justice and love, His sovereignty and gentleness — do the slow, essential work of theological formation through music. What we sing about God shapes what we believe about God, and what we believe about God shapes everything else about how we live. These songs are not background music; they're catechesis. Choose them carefully, repeat them intentionally, and watch the congregation's faith become more grounded, more spacious, and more resilient over time.
