Theme: Character

Worship is not just an event — it's a formation process. Songs about character address the long-haul work of becoming more like Jesus: the cultivation of patience, integrity, kindness, humility, and all the fruit of the Spirit. I find these songs particularly important in congregations where there's a gap between the emotional height of worship gatherings and the quality of relational life Monday through Saturday. True worship produces genuine character transformation. These songs call the congregation toward that integration, naming the virtues God is forming and inviting people to cooperate with the Spirit's sanctifying work. They're less about celebration and more about aspiration — and aspiration, sung together, becomes a shared community vision.
