Theme: Being Held

Showing 1 songs

Some of the most important pastoral work a worship set can do is simply hold people in God's presence when they're in pain. Songs about being held are for the desperate and the exhausted — for the grieving mother, the overwhelmed caregiver, the person who came to church on the verge of collapse. These songs don't explain the suffering or promise quick resolution. They speak the deepest truth: that underneath all the pain, God's arms are there. He is not panicking. He is not absent. He is near. I've watched these songs become vehicles of profound healing and relief, especially in congregations that have been through shared trauma. Sometimes what people need most is simply to know they're not falling alone.
