Theme: Anticipation

So much of the Christian life is lived in the space between promise and fulfillment — between what God has said and what we can yet see. Songs about anticipation hold that tension faithfully, neither denying the waiting nor despairing in it. They cultivate the spiritual posture of Advent: expectant, alert, leaning forward. I've led these songs in seasons of church planting, in waiting rooms before significant decisions, and in communities asking God for breakthrough that hasn't yet come. They're powerful because they put faith in the future tense — declaring that something is coming even before it arrives. Anticipation, cultivated through worship, is one of the most underrated spiritual disciplines.
