Worship Song BPM and Key Chart: The 60 Most-Sung Songs in One Table

The tempo and key data for the songs your team actually plays, in one table you can check from the rehearsal room floor.

The table your rehearsal keeps reaching for

Somebody on your team asked this week: what BPM is that song, and what key do we do it in? The answer usually involves three browser tabs, a YouTube guess, and a chart from 2019 in the wrong key. This page is the shortcut: tempo, male key, female key, and time signature for the sixty most-sung songs in the index, verified against the catalog. Every title links to the full song page with themes, scripture references, and arrangement notes.

Two notes before the table. The male and female keys listed are congregational recommendations, not the original recording key; the point is where a room full of untrained voices can live, and each song page explains the reasoning. And BPM listed is the common congregational tempo; live recordings often drift a few clicks either side.

How to actually use it

Look at the cluster around 68-72 BPM. That is not a coincidence; it is the modern congregational center of gravity, and it explains why so many sets feel same-y. If your last four weeks lived entirely in that band, pull from the drive range and the fast lane on purpose.

Check meter alongside tempo. Six of the songs in the 68-84 zone are in 6/8, and they will not sit cleanly in a medley with a 4/4 song at the same BPM. The 6/8 index holds the whole compound-meter family.

And treat the keys as a starting point. G works for most male-led congregations and Bb for most female-led ones on the same song, but your room's ceiling is the real authority. The reasoning behind key choices lives in what key should worship songs be in, and every song page carries both recommendations so you can decide in one look.
